James Zhao

James Zhao is a Founding Partner and Managing Partner at LYFE Capital. With three offices in Shanghai, Menlo Park and Singapore, LYFE Capital is a global healthcare investment platform with ~$2 billion asset under management. LYFE has invested about 70 industry leading companies such as Imeik (300896.SZ), Burning Rock Bio (NASDAQ: BNR), Kangji Medical (09997.HK), Easton Biopharmaceuticals (688513.SH), Recbio (02179.HK), Pliant Therapeutics (NASDAQ: PLRX) and Cytek Biosciences (NASDAQ: CTKB).

James has over 20 years of healthcare investment experience in Asia and the US. Prior to founding LYFE in 2015, he built up the China practice for Vivo Capital as a Managing Partner, and also worked as a Consultant at the Monitor Group. James attained his MBA from Olin school of business from Washington University in St. Louis as well as his masters of science in molecular biology from Vrijie University Brussels. He was initially trained in clinical medicine at West China University.
